Xeriscape Garden Tour
Xeriscape Garden
This unique tour takes place every summer, bringing together long time residents and newcomers, green thumbs and novice gardeners. It features seven gardens across the Bear Valley and showcases everything from native plants to decorative stone, homeowner handy-work to professionally groomed yards.

Meant to inspire and educate, the tour is great for homeowners, renters, weekend residents, visitors and business owners. Part social gathering, part home tour, and part gardening lesson, it teaches all who join about Xeriscaping, the value of native plants and the variety of beautiful landscaping options that require little to no water. You can learn more about Xeriscape here.

Held in July, the tour is hosted by the Sierra Club Big Bear Group and sponsored by numerous organizations across the Valley, including the DWP. Attracting close to 500 visitors every year, the self-guided tour starts at a local nursery with booths from The Sierra Club, the DWP, Master Composters, and more. Tour participants receive goody bags and booklets with a map, photo, and description of each property before heading off to meet, mingle, and get motivated.

Interested in sponsoring the tour? Want to volunteer or see if your house makes the cut? Contact Christie Walker with the Sierra Club at (909) 547-2237 or visit the Sierra Club Big Bear Group's website.
