New Features and New Account Numbers

Winds of change quote. BBLDWP account numbers have changed and we have a new customer account porta

Big Bear Lake Department of Water (DWP) customers can now pay their bills using a credit card at the DWP office with no fees. This among other benefits is one reason the DWP made the transition to a new customer information system and online account portal. Due to the conversion, account numbers have changed and DWP customers need to update the number with their payment services. Customers can also use the new portal to sign up for emailed copies of their bill as well as for water-related emergency alerts such as outages. To receive notifications on the software changes as well as updates on BBLDWP projects and programs via email or text, subscribe to the eNotify list “DWP Customer Updates” at Periodic updates will also be posted on the DWP website, sent via email newsletter, and posted on social media.

New Account Numbers are now available. All customers will receive their new account number in the mail. If you need your account number sooner, please email or call (909) 866- 5050.

How are customers notified?

Those customers whose bills are due August 12- 23 were sent a letter, printed on pink paper with a custom envelope letting them know the change was coming. This was sent in advance as those customers payments were likely to be affected.

All customers will receive a similar letter (pink with a custom envelope) that includes your new account number.

Customers may still make a payment using their bank, over the phone at 877-698-6732 ($4.94 fee), in person at 41972 Garstin Dr. or by mail to P.O. Box 1929 Big Bear Lake, CA 92315.

What do I do now?

If you pay by mail or in person, including the payment stub from your bill with your check or money order, no changes are necessary.

If you would like to pay by phone, please call 866-238-4185 for Visa or MasterCard or 877-698-6732 for American Express or Discover ($4.94 fee).

If you pay through your bank, you will need to update your BBLDWP account number.

If you use the BBLDWP online account portal, you will need to re-enroll.

  • You will need the new account number AND the dollar amount of your last payment to enroll.

If you are enrolled in auto pay using a debit or credit card, you will need to re-enroll and input payment information.

If you provided a voided check to set up an auto pay draft through BBLDWP, no changes are necessary to make your payment.

What else should I know?

Contact us right away if you need to update your mailing address, phone numbers, email addresses or information for anyone authorized on the account.

If you are paid in full and don’t have any payments due within 14 days you are encouraged to enroll in auto pay using a bank draft. The great thing about this option is that you will generally avoid missing payments. To enroll, download the application at, complete the form, sign it and send a photo or scanned copy to BBLDWP Customer Service. The original can also be mailed to the DWP office at P.O. Box 1929 Big Bear Lake, CA 92315.

What about the account portal?

The new account portal allows customers with multiple properties or accounts to pay all of them with just one log in. Since the online account portal is completely new, customers who have or wish to have access will need to sign up, even if you had an online account set up previously. In the future, the online account portal will be upgraded to include up-to-date consumption information and allow customers to set up various alerts for events such as unexpected water use or leaks.

Create an online account today.

This also gives you access to:

  • Sign up for auto pay to streamline your payment process.
  • Sign up for Emergency Alerts: find out about significant events that may affect your water service.
  • To protect privacy and financial data, only one email address may be used per account.
  • Sign up for eBill. Receive your bill via email, saving time and resources.
    • Customers who are already signed up for eBill will remain on eBill unless they contact the BBLDWP and ask to change their preference.

The new system also allows commercial customers with multiple meters to get all of their bills on one statement. If you are interested in this option or have additional questions please contact DWP Customer Service.
