Review the Conservation Plan Public Draft

With match funding from the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, the City of Big Bear Lake Department of Water and Power (BBLDWP) embarked on the process of developing a Water Conservation Management Plan (WCMP) in late 2017. This plan is now in its final stages and will be presented at a public hearing on March 26, 2019 at the BBLDWP Board Meeting at 9 a.m. at 41972 Garstin Dr. Big Bear Lake, CA 92315.

For more than a decade the BBLDWP has implemented a comprehensive and effective conservation program, however, that program had not yet been subject to a formal review for feasibility or efficacy. The Water Conservation Management Plan evaluates and prioritizes all current and potential water use efficiency measures based upon cost-effectiveness, ease of implementation, public perception, staff resources, quantifiable water savings, ratepayer impacts and budgetary considerations. The Conservation Management Plan includes an implementation schedule and tracking methods so that conservation measures can be formally monitored and evaluated over the next 25+ years.
