The Conservation Department wears many hats at the Department of Water and Power (DWP). Our main priorities are to promote water conservation, water-use efficiency, and prevent water waste so that the Bear Valley has enough water to get through periods of drought. We work to achieve these goals through education, outreach, regulation, and when necessary, enforcement.
We are happy to make presentations at schools, clubs, or businesses.
We reach out to our customers through public events as well as indoor plumbing and outdoor irrigation surveys.
We provide free resources, guides, and tools whenever possible.
And last but not least, we offer rebates.
The DWP is a proud member of the Alliance for Water Efficiency, which is a non-profit organization dedicated to the efficient and sustainable use of water.
The DWP is a member agency of the California Water Efficiency Partnership (formerly CUWCC). Its goal is to integrate urban water conservation Best Management Practices into the planning and management of California's water resources.
The DWP is a proud partner of WaterSense, a partnership program with the U.S Environmental Protection Agency, that seeks to protect the future of our nation's water supply by offering people a simple way to use less water with water-efficient products, new homes, and services.
